Qualys CAR (Custom Assessment and Remediation)
Write your own assessment and remediation scripts to respond to zero-days, secure custom applications and extend your Qualys security program.
Qualys CAR (Custom Assessment and Remediation)
When a threat can’t wait for a vendor signature, build your own check and your own fix.
New threats and in-house applications don’t always fit predefined detections. Qualys Custom Assessment and Remediation (CAR) lets security teams carry out assessment and remediation directly, using their own custom actions and controls. It sits in the remediation layer of the Qualys Enterprise TruRisk Platform, alongside VMDR and TruRisk Eliminate.
Put assessment and remediation in your team’s hands
- Custom actions and controls: Define assessment and remediation steps that are specific to your organization.
- Proactive zero-day response: Detect, assess and respond to zero-day vulnerabilities and threats proactively.
- First-party application coverage: Detect vulnerabilities in applications you build in-house.
- Seamless visibility: Results appear within your existing Qualys security programs on the same platform, not in a separate tool.
Where CAR fits
CAR complements Qualys’s built-in detections. Use it when you need to act before a vendor signature exists, when you need to assess software developed in-house, or when your environment calls for checks and fixes unique to you. Because the findings live on the same platform as the rest of your risk data, teams never lose context. Custom checks appear next to Qualys detections in the same reports, so nothing has to be reconciled by hand.
“Same-day zero-day check”: A new threat goes public. The team writes a custom assessment to find affected systems and a custom remediation action to apply the recommended workaround, then tracks results inside its existing Qualys program.
