Trellix Email Security (EX)

"Trellix Email Security (EX)" provides real-time protection and prevention against various types of attacks in email traffic that cannot be stopped by traditional defense methods such as social engineering, spear phishing, and credential harvesting. It detects spelling errors in phishing attacks, verifies if there has been any previous email traffic between the sender and recipient, and analyzes URLs and attachments shared via email to provide comprehensive protection. For emails containing password-protected attachments, Trellix EX attempts to open the protected file by trying potential password keywords in the email to prevent password sharing within the email. Additionally, in case a previously permitted email is determined to be malicious, it offers retrospective protection by re-analyzing the data in the email to develop defenses against new threats. Trellix EX provides protection for shortened and redirected URLs, leveraging the MVX engine for zero-day and known attack types. The Trellix EX solution can be deployed in various ways, including integrated installation for easy setup, distributed architecture, virtual sensor structure, and utilizing cloud MVX.
